North American Nickel Inc. is presented with the Prospector and Developer of the Year Award for 2015 from the Government of Greenland!

For the last six years BMP (now Ministry of Mineral Resources of the Government of Greenland) has introduced an award for the ‘Prospector & Developer of the Year in Greenland’. The award is given to a company or person, who has been active in exploration and has shown initiative, been innovative and shown the way for other companies on how to explore in Greenland. Other requirements for the prize are good environmental practise and social responsibility.
The Ministry of Mineral Resources awarded this year’s award to North American Nickel (NAN) who has been very active in Greenland for the last four years since their licence was granted 15 August 2011. The licence area, the Maniitsoq Norite Belt, has historical been a target for earlier investigations (1962-2000). NAN flew 6,718 line km of helicopter-borne SkyTEM/VTEM surveys between 2011 and 2013 covering approximately 891 square kilometres. The surveys focused mainly on the 75 km x 15 km of the Norite Belt.
In the 2012 drill program 9 holes were drilled for 1,551 m in three areas (Spotty Hill, Imiak Hill, Fossilik II). In the 2013 drill program completed a further 25 holes for 4,266 m. Significant intersections with sulphides were encountered at Imiak Hill, Mikissoq (previously Imiak North), Fossilik, and additional at Spotty Hill.
The 2014 drill program completed a total of 8,773 m in 39 diamond drill holes at the Imiak Hill Complex, and twenty-two regional exploration targets (3,725 m) were drilled focusing on 14 geophysical targets throughout the Maniitsoq property.
North American Nickel trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol NAN. VMS Ventures Inc. (VMS:TSX.V) owns approximately 22% of North American Nickel and The Sentient Group owns approximately 41.2%.
NAN representative, Mark Fedikow – President, received the award from the Minister of Mineral Resources.
The award-prize is a soapstone figure with the inscription: ’Prospector and Developer of the Year in Greenland 2015, North American Nickel Inc., Presented by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Government of Greenland’.
